The Moving ahead development Agency-NPC today announced the inaugural tri-distance virtual road race to take place on 14 March 2021 honouring Covid19 survivors.
The Moving ahead development Agency-NPC funded by The Gauteng Department: Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation will host a virtual road run come Sunday 14 March 2021. Fittingly, the event theme is Nominate your Covid-19 Hero, Run for your person: A theme that will celebrate all those who have conquered the pandemic.
Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Mbali Hlophe elaborates; “It’s imperative that in these challenging times, we’re reminded of the fighters, those who continue to celebrate their lives and be with us today. It is a gift to run: To have your health, friends and family all in the glorious summer sunshine of the Gauteng Province. We urge our people to lace up, get
running and celebrate living and being loved. Because it’s virtual, you can run any route and any time of the day!”
“The three distances namely 10km, 21km and 45km should cater for both the novice as well as top athlete,” Says MADA CEO Tshepo Mokoena “You’re welcome to run your chosen route at any time on the Sunday and join all the other runners who will run in support of those who have survived Covid-19. We welcome our ambassadors Gift Kelehe and Lizzy Babili both of whom
will compete in the 45km distance on race day.”
Those interested in running their chosen distance can register online at: www.twocities.co.za with the entry fee’s as follows: 10km – R60; 21km – R70; R45km – R90.
