Peregrine Capital brings Springbok and All Black rugby royalty together in Cape Town, raising R500,000 for charity ahead of an October Series on SuperSport

CAPE TOWN, 28 August 2026 — Peregrine Capital hosted “An Evening with the Centurions” at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town on Thursday, 27 August 2026, bringing together six Springbok Rugby Centurions and two All Black Centurions alongside a select group of Peregrine Capital clients to celebrate the players who have reached the rare milestone of 100 international caps.

The evening was attended by clients and media, together with Springbok Centurions Percy Montgomery, John Smit, Victor Matfield, Bryan Habana, Jean de Villiers and Willie le Roux, and All Black Centurions Dan Carter and Richie McCaw. Hosting the evening was former Scotland international and British & Irish Lion Jim Hamilton, known for his globally popular rugby podcast, The Big Jim Show.

As part of the evening, guests watched a live, filmed Q&A session with the Springbok Centurions and Jim Hamilton, recorded for “One to One Hundred: An Evening with the Centurions” — a special that will air on SuperSport in October 2026.

During the evening, Peregrine Capital and the Centurions handed over a combined R500,000 to two charitable causes: R250,000 to the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players’ Fund, accepted by Jean de Villiers in his capacity as the Fund’s Chairman, and R250,000 to Get into Rugby South Africa, accepted by Angelique Naude, in support of the grassroots programme that safely introduces children to the sport.

Jacques Conradie, CEO of Peregrine Capital, says: “A year in, this partnership has become exactly what we hoped it would be — not a single campaign, but an ongoing way of showing what it takes to compound success over time, on the field and in the market. We’re proud to keep building on it with new events, new content series and new Centurions joining us in the months ahead.”

Danni Dixon, Chief Marketing at Peregrine Capital, says: “Seeing six Springbok Centurions and two All Black greats share a stage at Zeitz MOCAA was a genuinely special moment for our clients and for our brand. We’re proud of what the evening raised for both charities, and we can’t wait for South Africa to see more of it when it airs on SuperSport in October.”

John Smit’s comments from launch still capture the thinking behind the partnership: “The number 100 represents a clear threshold and very few do achieve it. It implies resilience, focus, professionalism, consistency, passion, discipline, and determination. These qualities are the bedrock that forms the foundation for a rugby player’s journey to reach 100 international test caps. We saw these shared values reflected in Peregrine Capital, too, which is why this partnership made sense to us.”

Through the partnership, Peregrine Capital continues to bring the Centurions’ legacy into the spotlight through shared values — the very qualities that define both legendary athletes and superior investors on the journey of what it takes to go from 1 to 100.
